Nathan started asking "why" this week.
Nate: I want a bar (granola bar).
Me: You can't have a bar, but you can have a banana.
Nate: Why?
Me: Because I want you to eat something healthy.
Nate: Why?....
I think one reason God gives us children is to give us a visual on what our relationship with him looks like. So many times I will ask God for something and He will want to provide in a different way. I start asking why.... Why not this way? Why not now? Just like I want the best for Nate, God wants the best for me (even more so). If I believe that God wants the best for me than why do I fight so much for something else?
I am reminded today to keep my eyes on Jesus so that he can allow me to see his perspective on my life. I can only see what is right in front of me, but God can see the whole picture...what's coming up ahead.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Very good insight! I hadn't thought of it that way!
I love the picture of you and Nate. He is growing up so fast.
